Dear Life by Meghan Quinn Review

The Cover: I really love Dear Life's cover, I think it's different and beautiful to look at. Dear Life doesn't just focus on one person or one couple and I am very happy that all the characters described in the book are on the cover. A+!

Basics: Dear Life was published on December 14th 2016 and was published by CreateSpace Independent Publishing Platform. Dear Life is 352 pages long.

Description: Four lives. Four stories. Four sets of letters. Four brave souls in need of guidance while facing life's greatest challenges. The anonymously published Dear Life program is designed to help them step outside of their comfort zones, face their obstacles, and relinquish their demons...and prove their existence. With their lives teetering between wanting more and losing it all, all four souls dive into the program as a New Year’s resolution, sending them on a crazy, life-altering journey. Dear Life, Please be kind. Yours truly, Hollyn, Jace, Daisy, and Carter.

Overall thoughts: I didn't expect Dear Life to be so emotional! I choked up several times because the stories that were told in Dear Life were so expressive and so heart wrenching. I appreciated the changes that Hollyn, Jace, Daisy and Carter went through. This book was heavily focused on romance but at the same time it was love that healed all four characters in different ways;  it may of took longer for certain characters to grow past their problems and struggles but it was something I enjoyed reading, watching each character move past their problems and struggles.

Favorite characters: I really enjoyed each of the four main characters to be honest with you, because each character had a different aspect of life that they were struggling with that was relatable. Although Hollyn is my favorite out of the foursome because just like her fiery hair, she has a sassiness and a stubbornness that I appreciate in a character. Carter also made me laugh a lot and I really enjoyed him as a character; although at times I wanted to smack him because he continuously fought against the people and program that was ultimately trying to help him.

Couple Chemistry Rating: 3/5 shells

Favorite Quotes: "It's a standoff of epic proportions. Firefighter versus student nurse. Brawny and beautiful man versus twiggy girl with vibrant red hair." - Hollyn

"Our love is protected by everlasting armor. I'm aware we married absurdly young, but there is something to say about falling in love with your soulmate. Nothing will penetrate we created which makes me one hell of a lucky girl." -Hollyn

"What was supposed to be a love of everlasting armor was easily cracked, broken and lost." -Hollyn

"For one, there is love. Real love. Not movie love which I've consumed my entire life. But real life love where two individuals come together and share each other's passions, their faults and their accomplishments." -Daisy

Final thoughts: I think that everyone at some point in their lives lives go through hardships and it was refreshing to read a book where you are reading about four different types of struggles and
issues and its relatable. Dear Life was a great read about going through the struggles and surprises of life while also bonding with others. I think if people in general would come together more and try to be there for one another, things would be a lot easier. With all the hate and sadness in the world today and unfortunately during the holiday season, it was a very nice surprise to read something so uplifting and although Dear Life had it's sad moments, it was hopeful. And with Christmas soon upon us along with a new year, everyone could use some hope.

My Rating:  5/5 shells

About the Author:
A BLONDE AT HEART

Born in New York and raised in Southern California, Meghan has grown into a sassy, peanut butter eating, blonde haired swearing, animal hoarding lady. She is known to bust out and dance if “It’s Raining Men” starts beating through the air and heaven forbid you get a margarita in her, protect your legs because they may be humped.

Once she started commuting for an hour and twenty minutes every day to work for three years, she began to have conversations play in her head, real life, deep male voices and dainty lady coos kind of conversations. Perturbed and confused, she decided to either see a therapist about the hot and steamy voices running through her head or start writing them down. She decided to go with the cheaper option and started writing… enter her first novel, Caught Looking.

Now you can find the spicy, most definitely on the border of lunacy, kind of crazy lady residing in Colorado with the love of her life and her five, furry four legged children, hiking a trail or hiding behind shelves at grocery stores, wondering what kind of lube the nervous stranger will bring home to his wife. Oh and she loves a good boob squeeze!
